Fly The Friendly Skies

Class, here's an update to the story involving the Speaker of the House. Notice the difference in facts in this article compared to Thursday's - and also notice the difference in tone between the White House spokesman and Pelosi's critics. What do you think that means, if anything?

Additionally, in your assignment, rather than posting a link, it is just fine if you provide me with a synopsis of an article you read, and be sure to tell us where you found it. That will be just fine!

Thank you and have a great weekend! Pete

CNN.com - Columnist testifies Rove confirmed Plame was CIA
After reviewing the latest artcle from CNN.com regarding the Libby trial, the impeding question is who is the real SNITCH?
Was it really Libby or was it more of an insider as Novak's testomony indicates - Secretay Armitage, or maybe even Rove?
I am not sure that we will ever know the complete & honest answer - as that would require the people involved to tell the truth. So do they incriminate themselve or do the plead the 5th, that is the question?
Regardless the true issue here is the safety of someone, who just happens to be a woman, trying to do their job and provide for their family.
I would love to hear what others opinions are on the hot issue in Washington right now.

UN welcomes US Irag refugee plan
The article states that the United States will allow 7,000 Iraqi refugees to move to the US. This is up from the reported 463 refugees the US has taken in since the war started four years ago.
The US will also off 18 million to the UN High Commission for Refugees. This is due to the critism the US has taken about the number of Iraqi refugees it has allowed to come to America.
I don't know if this is a good or bad idea. Over 3.8 million people have left Iraq since the war started. We want to liberate Iraq and bring democracy. How can we do this if people are fleeing their country? They are fleeing because of the civil war we brought to the country. I guess allowing some of the displaced people to move to the United States is a good gesture towards trying to make the best of things.

MSNBC Obama: Values, not race or beliefs, key to voters

States that ethnicity will not be determining role in candidacy. Nor will his religious affiliations. The only context in which this should be taken is to support the strong value system that his religion has instilled in him.
He sees his own personal obstacles as being more or less the new kid on the block. Most of his opponents have already built quite a following due to their experience in doing campaigning but that does not make them better capable of holding the position of President of these United States. It just means that Obama is going to have to be sure that he becomes known as a serious contender in this political arena.
He should be looked at first, foremost, and only on the platform on which he stands, all else is his business. Not to say that there is any similarity what-so-ever, but, look at Bill Clinton.
